Fall Power Plus Skating

October – December 2018

Power Plus Skating is a unique way of teaching the correct method of BALANCE, STROKING, STOPPING, TURNING (forwards & backwards) as well as many other HOCKEY RELATED manoeuvres and skating skills. Our tremendous success since 1963 is due to our philosophy; a child must crawl before he or she walks, and must walk before he or she runs! We teach individuals to skate from age 6 to 60 for pleasure, ringette, hockey and speed skating. The POWER PLUS SKATING SYSTEM can also be the foundation for ice dancing and figure skating.

Complete skills must be simplified to be learned. The two methods we use are (1) SHAPING (2) CHAINING as outlined in the CANADIAN NATIONAL COACHING CERTIFICATION manual.

Requirements:
To enter our program the child must be beyond the walking stage and have their balance, usually about the age of 6. To put a child into any demanding teaching program prior to this stage of development COULD be detrimental to a child’s mental and physical well being.
